Press Release: New Leaf looks to Join Pleasanton
New Leaf Community Markets has interest in opening a store inside a large anchor space at the Vintage Hills Shopping Center in Pleasanton, CA.
SANTA CRUZ, CA – SEPTEMBER 1, 2011 – The commercial space that New Leaf Community Markets has expressed interest in is the Vintage Hills Shopping Center shopping center, located at 3550 Bernal Avenue (at Tawny, near Vineyard). This 19,000-square-foot-location has been empty for over 15 overs and would make this New Leaf’s seventh location. “We would like to be in Pleasanton — we think it’s a great community,” said Rex Stewart, general manager of the Santa Cruz-based New Leaf Community Markets, co-owner with founder and business partner Scott Roseman.
The vacant space is owned by Sim & Yoon LLC. Negotiations are currently in the works with the leasing manager, so a confirmation of space and opening date cannot be provided at this time. “It’s a complicated process because of the long-term vacancy of the property,” Stewart said. “But we are interested in coming to Pleasanton and the community has expressed enthusiasm for having a store with an emphasis on healthy, locally-grown organic food and sustainability.”
