Try this tangy, sweet, and spicy barbecue sauce, perfect for basting pork and chicken or use as a dip.
- 1 lb fresh peaches
- 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup yellow onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 habanero pepper, chopped
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons honey
- 2 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sherry
- 1 teaspoon salt
In a hot pan, cook onions in oil until they become clear. Add garlic, habanero and salt and cook for 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes or until peaches are completely soft. Puree in a blender and season with salt and pepper.
