Flaming Peach BBQ Sauce


  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 habanero pepper, deseeded and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb ripe peaches, cut in quarters with pits removed
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sherry


  1. In a hot pan, cook onions in oil until they become clear. Add garlic, habanero and salt and cook for 3 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes or until peaches are completely soft. Puree in a blender and season with salt and pepper. Use as a baste for pork or poultry or simply use as a dipping sauce.
